This 4-hour workshop is designed to enable NHS staff operating up to KSF level 3 to appreciate the real implications and issues around Equality and Diversity and consider different ways of dealing with this extremely complex matter from their own, their patients’ and the team’s point of view. It challenges stereotypical judgments and behaviours when faced with a range of diverse people. It is true to say that no organisation deals with so wide a range of different people than the NHS and this toolkit will help to manage this effectively.
From a business perspective, staff will gain a greater understanding of the reality of Equality and Diversity as they examine the law (as of June 2008), their own and others’ prejudices and how to deal with them. This means that the NHS will be seen as (a) a forward-thinking provider of excellent health care and (b) an employer of choice. Time is also given to consider how to evidence good practice utilising KSF criteria.
Adding this valuable resource to your library of training and development tools will contribute to organisational performance and also be useful if you are seeking or maintaining Investors in People.
